A Buyer's Agency, also known as BRRETA, (an acronym for Brokerage Relationships in Real Estate Transaction Act.) came into play in the Georgia real estate market back in January, 1994. Prior to that time, buyers actually did not have any representation.
In essence, nobody was looking out for the interests of the buyers! With buyers agency, the buyer signs what is known as the “Exclusive Buyer Brokerage Agreement” which spells out the agency relationship between the Broker and the Purchaser. A good buyers agent will provide you with comparisons, recently sold homes, and true market value and expert advice you may need. It is important to be represented in probably the largest purchase in your lifetime. |
